Hi,
I'm from Europe and would like to stay in Canada as a tourist for four weeks. Is it possible to purchase a plan for a month? Can I register even though I don't have a residential address in Canada? What else should I consider?

hi @mwn
yes, that unlimited plan is a 5G plan, not the 4G plan you mentioned earlier
for 5G, Canada only data, the unlimited plan will triggered the low speed usage after the big amount of data is used up. The slow speed data is at 512kbps, which is decent for browsing and email checking. You can check the current available plans here

Know what you’re getting from the get-go. With a variety of options as unique as you are, subscribe to the plan that’s right for you and get the features you want, like unlimited data, with cost-certainty you can depend on.

Thanks for the info. I can't believe how expensive mobile data is in Canada. I'm afraid to ask, but are there cheaper options?

That term doesn't apply to any of the 4G plans. It only applies to some Canada-wide 5G speed plans that are advertised as including unlimited data. The small superscript number or symbol that matches up that condition to specific plans isn't shown anywhere in any ot the 4G speed plan details.

How i can understand this ? :
Terms and conditions
10. Data speeds reduced to a maximum of 512Kbps after your included high-speed data bucket is exhausted. Speed may vary with your device, Internet traffic, environmental conditions, applicable network management policies and other factors.

The speed would be 0 Mbps. On 4G speed plans, the data stops working as soon as the plan's data has all been used.

Do PM this PAD transactions ?
"However, you may not use your card for regular pre-authorized debit (PAD) transactions, where you authorize a company or organization to withdraw funds from your card. All PAD transactions will be rejected and Peoples Trust will not be liable for any costs incurred by you as a result."

Hi, does anyone have experience with the real speed after using up the high-speed volumes, e.g. the 4G Speed plans with one or four GB of high-speed volume?

Hi,
I found a prepaid card with the following note:
"You may not make pre-authorized regular payments through the card."
Can this be a Problem?

hi @mwn
you don't really need to register it. and for PM subscription, make sure you put in a Canadian address with a matching postal code. Any address will do. If you have a friend's address/postal code, best to put that in. If not, put in the hotel address/postal code should be sufficient

Hi @hTideGnow
Interesting idea.
Do you have to register the prepaid credit card to use it?
Thank you very much.

hi @mwn
yes, there are other payment way.
But a prepaid credit card from stores or gas stations and you can use that to activate
of course, you can ask your friends to help if they have a credit card

I don't have a Canadian credit card.
Are there any other payment methods?
I will mainly use data to navigate and inform during my travel.

You can open a PM account but you would need Canadian (the best way) credit card and any legitimate Can address. As service starts and you confirm all is working well you should immediately remove autopay (subscription). After 90 days of no pay that account will be deleted. Credit card will be charged once - when you open an account.

Other alternative is to get a free VOIP app like TextNow but you have to be close to WiFi to place/get calls/sms
