always paid my bill by PAD now I have no service where I always have service. what's going on?

Do you see the renewal charge on your payment card transactions and in your account payment history?

That might be a good place to start investigating. 

You might also maybe try the SIM card in another device, if available.

Did you check your account to see if it's been paid? Did you get notice your account was over due? Have you tried to reboot your phone? Sometimes you need to go into network settings and pick Public Mobile and reboot instead of having it on Automatic...
