Can someone tell me how it works when someone moves to another province?:
- can I keep the same phone number?
- I have country wide phone calls plan. How does that change?
Thank you

It's not a huge deal for most to have an out of province phone number especially when it can save you 8%. Get a fongo number with an Ontario phone number and call forward it to your pm phone number. Then you can give out which ever number suits the caller best. You might run into the intercom issue with your phone number so just keep that in mind.

Not necessary... People with real land lines usually have no unlimited Canada wide calls.
Caller from Mississauga calling Aurora will pay long distance charge.
Keeping AB phone will lower total mobile cost but might become inconvenient to some callers.
It is up to OP to decide will current number work for everybody.

@dpcalgary To add to the information already provided, you will be charged provincial taxes based on the area code of your new phone number, not on your billing address.

@dpcalgary : Callers will have their long distance plans. You have an AB number. Anybody elsewhere will be calling you long distance. People in AB and your local calling area will not call long distance.
Doesn't everybody have Canada-wide these days?
You might be interested in keeping your AB number to save 8% in taxes.

Yes. the number can stay the same in other provinces.
nationwide calling as well remains same in every province.
Just add "1" before the number of other province when you call local there.
And yes People in Ontario needs to add "1" as well while calling your Alberta number.

Thank you for that.
What about my calling minutes Canada wide. I don't get charged is my understanding but what if someone calls me from my new province i.e. I'm in Alberta now moving to Ontario. My new contacts in Ontario will be charged for long distance?
