Porting has no no relation to the inability to send outgoing text messages. Even if a port has failed, outgoing text messaging would still work.

@Pierreroy1944 how long ago did you port your number? A cell number can take up to 3 hours and a landline 2.5 days to complete. If Its been longer than that, your port may be stuck. Contact a moderator. Click on the green questionmark in the white circle at the bottom right of your screen. This connects to the autobot Simon. Type moderator and follow the prompts to get to one (CLICK on account specific question and human and submit a ticket). If yes, how long ago?
What works and what does not?
Calls in out?
Text in and out?
Data?
What plan are you on?
When you say you can't send a text..are you talking about a normal sms or are you by chance talking about a MMS picture text?
