I have to change my sim card due to a faulty sim card. What is the process to do this?

awesome, awesome!!!! Excellent info! I explained this to my son, and we agree that having the availability of an Esim is a good option, but as you suggest, having a physical sim card is likely "LESS" problematic! But I thank you very much for the well described information "re esim" card. So far, the problem seems to have disappeared! fingers crossed!!!!!

esim itself is as good as physical sim in terms or reliability. Esim just being convenient to have it instantly without going to store to buy. But Physical sim is easier to change phone or torubleshoot
just in case you need eism, yes, PM offers that. You will just need to download PM app on the phone that needs esim. Then login and go to Account page and Puchase sim and choose esim. Pay and the app would install it for you
hope all goes well from here

I think,.....fingers crossed, that I got it to work. My son sat beside me and my computer, I logged into his account, and he got the code almost immediately to his phone (that part was NOT working before. Then, I signed into his profile, changed the sim #, he turned his phone off, inserted the new sim card, and turned it back on and it's now, again, fingers crossed, seems to be working better, as in, he sent me a test text message and I received it immediately. That part was NOT working before. But, we've been down this road before. So the proof will be in letting the dust settle for a while to see whether that stupid message "Emergency Calls Only" reappears. What a process! The good part about this is that I have become more knowledgeable in that I was told (by a Bell tech when I walked into a brick and mortor store and explained my problem and she said it was the sim card).....PS, she also suggested that I get an e-sim card because there is no physical card, it's all electronic. But, I don't know if PM has such a thing. Do you know if they have E-sim cards? In case this happens again, I might want to go that route. Just asking. Thank you for all your help, ....Judi

so the phone service is working or not? or you still just have problem logging in?
if login the problem, try a different browser. Or you can click Didn't Receive code, use Send email option to receive 2FA via email. You can even use Send Voice Message option if your phone service works. Call back your voicemail to get the 2FA code

I tried this on my phone, clearing cache, and immediately after I hit "clear cache", go out of the window and come back into the same window, the cache is back again! It doesn't stay "cleared". It's not saving my command to "delete cache".

I THINK... as it's been a while... wasn't there an option for a little more time? Also, it shouldn't take more than 30 seconds to get the text message. Therefore I would suggest that maybe you request the code, if you can, go outside to get better reception as it seems that something may be interfering with you getting a text message. Then just pull down the screen and get any new text messages... swipe down I mean....

hi @Jvps1953 couple be a message cache problem, if you are using Android, clear cache and try again
or click Didn't receive code on the security code page and choose Send Email or Send voice message option to get the code that way

my problem now is that after I log in to PM, and they send a code to my phone, it takes forever to receive the code, and by that time, the code has expired!

now I have another problem. When I request a code from PM ,my session times out before I can enter the code!

Hello @Jvps1953
Very simple actually. Just purchase a new SIM card, details below. Then log into your account using this link and just change the SIM card number. Once done, turn off phone, insert and restart phone. You should be up and running!

To get a new SIM card the fastest routes are these.
https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/pick-up-SIM - Find a local store in your area.
Amazon - Here you can get it cheaper and maybe a few days wait $4.99
EDIT: Sorry, forgot to mention, if your phone can do eSIM, you can purchase that through the app on your phone.

- Get a new SIM. Either order from PM (and wait, wait, wait) or get it from Telus retail store or ebay.
- Then log in to your account, go to Profile where you can:
- Change phone number
- Change SIM number
- Transfer Phone Number
