Hello. My plan allows unlimited incoming texts/month and 50 outgoing texts/month. However, incoming texts are being added to my # texts used and reducing my remaining text messages. I have an iphone4 and am not using data, wifi or imessage. Please help!

Hi @HKim
I would submit a ticket to the moderators and explain the matter to them for an explanation.
To contact a moderator, there are 2 methods:
Watch for their response in your Community private mailbox which will be indicated by a number on the small envelope icon to the left of your Community avatar.

My existing plan is fine if it would correctly count the texts.

Thank you. No, my phone is not sending read receipts. I have checked with someone with whom I frequently exchange texts.

That's exactly what I had thought, @Anonymous .
@HKim , could your texting app be set to reply with read receipts, or other kind of confirmation, which may be being sent to folks texting you?
I'd ask someone if they're getting that back from you when they send you a text.

I did a brief search but still wonder...do iphone imessage read receipts or any delivered indication use an outbound SMS internally therefore getting counted? I don't have an iphone so I can't test with the $10 plan.

This wouldn't make a difference as the $10 plan also includes unlimited incoming text messages.
Since incoming messages are reducing the amount of text messages remaining in the counter out of the 50, there is an account problem. You'll need to open a ticket to the moderators by going to: https://publicmobile.ca/chatbot

If you are able to pay for a higher cost plan $15 or more that has unlimited texts. Another option would to use Wi-Fi apps like Textnow or WhatsApp.

Can you afford to consider the $15 plan?
