I've been on public mobile in Edmonton for a year or so and been constantly disappointed by the speed, it's rare to get over 3 mbps, I've tried multiple phones, sims, esims, no change
Recently I acquired a work phone of the same model as mine (s24) on the Telus network. I'm sitting here comparing, the Telus sim phone gets 100+ down, public mobile sim? 2.5. both phones on 5g. So I go "hmm" and swap the sims between phones , yup the Telus sim is still getting 100+ down in my personal phone, and my work phone is now getting 3 mbps with my public sim. I have gotten ~80ish Mbps on the public mobile sim before, but only in the middle of the night. What gives? Is there some extreme network throttling going on above the 250 cap advertised? It sure seems like

I’ve got an iPhone XR, but I’ve tried the Sim on other devices.

you have an S24, right? S24 not an issue for sure
did yo test your sim on another phone?
and ask PM to reprovision your account. Just open ticket with PM using the Orange Chatbot icon on the lower right. (For 2FA when login, you might need to use email to receive if you cannot receive the text on the phone.) Type the question Submit ticket and select Contact Us to get to ticket open screen

Hi @slusagm , I signed up to the 5G 75GB Can/US/Mx plan for $35 back in December.
I did check my settings, and my phone is on LTE. Auto is not an option so I’ve already tried to cycle between 3G and LTE.
I did get once, around 50-60mbps, and it seemed to be a fluke with maybe one particular tower, as the rest of the time it’s typically 5ish. I’ve also had issues doing speed tests with the uploading simply not working, and as mentioned; holding my Telus phone right next to me; both on the same tower.
One observation which makes me suspect traffic shaping is the latency during the download is in the 4 to 5000ms range while Telus is on average 1500ms.

@KG83 what plan do you have ? the older 3G plan or the current 4G or 5G plan?
did you check your network mode?
Go to Settings, Cellular , Cellular Data Options > Voice & Data and select your preferred network mode, like "4G" or "LTE" to only use 4G instead of leaving it with Auto

I’ve been experiencing the same thing. I switched from Bell to PM, my work phone is on Telus and the kids are on Bell still. While I am not a data junkie, and have an older device (iPhone XR) I’ve noticed extremely slow speeds, 3-5mbps on average with PM - where it takes a few minutes for photos and videos to load in. Respectively on Telus or Bell, it’s 5-10x the speed - which is why it makes me think this could be related to Quality of Service or throttling.
Ironically, while travelling in the US last month, I was getting consistent 100+.
I’ll try your suggestion about reaching out to the chat assistant. Thus far I’m loving the $35 for 75 US/MX plan - even though I typically use less than 10gb per month.

As mentioned its reproducible with the same sim when swapping that sim to other phones that get full speed on Telus, in the past I've also tried switching from an esim to a physical Sim with no change as well, so I doubt it's a sim issue and it's just throttling, the slow public mobile sim will get speeds close to the Telus sims speed at like, 11 pm-5 am which is why I think it's an unadvertised throttling by public mobile, but I'll try asking for a sim reprovision and see if it does anything

Try Reset Network Settings on that phone
Make sure Data Saver and Power Safe mode both off
But if you don't see any improvements, ask PM to re-provision your sim

Nope, I'm on a 75 gig Canada/us/Mexico 5g plan. And as mentioned both phones/sims will connect to 5g, it's just the speed disparity. Same rough speeds if I force it to LTE as well
