@computergeek541 thank you for clarifying, that, even though, it worked not required.

It is best to keep it to a minimum when inputting information when activating.  Adding all those different pieces of information increases the chances of an error being entered.

@computergeek541  this last one i activated for my sister, porting it from bell account# Pin# and device number, i did it just a week ago. please double check your info.

In this matter, the information that I have provided is correct.

Customers never need to provide all three of IMEI, account number, and account PIN.  The Public Mobile porting form even says that only one is needed.

While the porting of your sister's phone number worked, by using all three pieces of information, you actually increased the chances of number porting failure.  Using more information for number porting is not better.

Unless porting from a Ztar Mobile brand such as 7-11 Speakout or Petro-Canada Mobility, I would not be using IMEI (which will be a requirement soon for ports from these brands). Otherwise, carriers usually prefer that customers use only the account number for number porting. Which carrier are you coming from?

@rvaage, I would totally send a message directly to the moderators, if you haven't already, but as well, including the text message that you received as well.

@rvaage  IMEI number is not required for a port. Best to use account#, name on the account and the phone number that you want ported.

@rvaage

It is 15 digits long. The IMEI number can be found on the silver sticker on the back of your phone, under the battery pack, or on the box your phone came in. depending on phone you have.

@rvaage I would suggest contacting PM via private message link here

https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437

And ask them what they require. Try the imei number *#06#.

Check your private message sent box (click on the envelope top right of your screen) to make sure the message was sent. Also keep an eye on the envelope, the mods answer will show up there. Once it does, you will be asked to verify your self service account, with your password and login. Doing so allows the process to continue.
If you need to, you can also enable email notification to receive a private message notification sent to your email. Go to your community account > my settings > PREFERENCES > Private Messenger > enable "Receive email notifications for new private messages" > Save

Welcome to PM.  Stay safe.
