Maybe I got mixed up. There's two places in Self-Serve which display data usage. The one I use seems to be updated frequently enough that I can watch it change when refreshing the page. I've done this a couple times now - on "3G speed", during the daytime, when my plan renews - monitoring (and cutting off) data usage while I allow my phone software do the things it wants to do. It apparently just can't and just won't do certain things across WiFi data or across a USB Sync. My plan's 250MB apparently isn't enough to do it all in one shot. I don't consider this usage worthwhile enough to burn any of my accumulated add-on data.

HI @Korth_
i think you got mixed up. The almost real time is the usage on the Overview page
OP was showing the Usage history, which always just update couple times in a day, usually twice. Which is normal, people keep using data, there is really no way to keep updating the usage in the usage page. If they update constantly, you will see an entry there every minute for 10Mb or so 🙂

I'm not convinced that's always true. Public Mobile (Telus) might not be able to guarantee the data is accounted for (and billed) until midnight ... but they often can update the billing information almost realtime.
I've had my Self-Serve summary open on a desktop while using data on a smartphone. Refreshing the page every few seconds is often enough to get the most recent information. I suppose it depends a lot on where you are, the data capacities of the cell site(s) you're connected to, the sync-with-billing capacities of the cell site(s) you're connected to, etc. The info seems to always be updated fairly quickly when I do my thing in Telus-heavy municipalities around GVRD and FVRD.
Another possibility is that you have an app or service on your phone which sneaks a little data every midnight. Some sort of communication with an internet server, report to the mothership and check the latest gossip. All sorts of background updates, syncs, checks, notifications, and telemetry wares are built into smartphone operating systems these days - iOS and Android, Apple and Samsung and Google and other are all happy to leech or burn your data for their purposes. Your phone probably has built-in data usage/monitoring software somewhere which will let you identify which particular thing is using your data in that time window. (I'm guessing that the sneaky-midnight-data is probably a weather app grabbing information about what to display the next day, every day - but I could be wrong.)

Public mobile reports data usage once to twice per day. Usually early in the morning. Summarizes your data usage for that day.

HI @Sharonzxy
like all carrier, the time you see with data is not live. They only update it couple times a day as a combined total. So, a 1AM usage there does not mean you used it at 1am. The 2 entries actually show the combine used of the previous day, so around 18.8 MB used on the previous day
