@rkaup - your phone can be set to warn you of data limits/usage; if this is the case, adjust your settings to what you would like set if anything.
Are these notices coming from your phone or a text from Public Mobile?
To get the most accurate usage of what your plan has used check your Overview section. It looks like this below, and you will see what is actually remaining. If the line does not show up, then you have used up all your data.
Install an app to track your ‘live’ usage so you can keep track. Public Mobile are 30 day plans (not monthly).
If you are android, try this one:
Data Witness app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iwik.datawitnesspm&hl=en_CA&gl=US
I use this one myself and it gives me what I need from it.
You could also check out Data counter widget: https://play.google.com/store/apps/detailsid=com.roysolberg.android.datacounter&hl=en_CA&gl=US
If you are an Apple user, I am sure there is a 30-day app that is available as well.

This is a public forum and are PM members like you. We can’t access your account other than make recommendations on how to remedy your problem.
You Self Serve account will show all you data usage so login and review it.
You might want to turn off data in your settings and turn it on when you need it.
Connect to your wifi at home or use public wifi when you are out.

What your self-serving account actually says how much data you used/have?
If you have DATA on all the time, some default apps and OS can use your data in a few days; always checking for updates and similar activities.
Check all app settings and turn off background usage and set updates on WiFi only.

@rkaup : Check your phone settings. Set OS and app updates to only run over wifi. Turn off background data usage of apps that don't need to be always connected to the internet. Turn off wifi assist or whatever it's called in your phone so that when you leave wifi or the signal becomes weak it doesn't just jump over to cell data. Heck...turn off cell data until needed.
There have been very rare instances of fast data consumption. But it's almost always the phone.
