credit card overcharge

 Hi, I am looking for assistance about my account payments. I signed up with Public Mobile a few days ago, and everything seemed in order, the guy set up autopay in Walmart. Me and my wife both signed up for a 25$ calling / texting plan.

 I have checked my credit card however, and I see 5 charges, 28$ charges x4 times and a 44$ charge.

This is what the transaction history looks like in both our accounts:

 To my understanding, we should have 2x around 28$ charges for the first month of use (as we are both connected to the same credit card) so i don't understand where the second 2 charges and the 44$ charge is from. Can some explain the situation to me?

 This is an unfortunate first interaction with public mobile for me.

@pbocianyou need to provide mor details on your account (even a screen shot of your overview page (removing any personal info) to get any help from the community and how much your cc was charged.

did you include taxes in your calculation?

also best to start your own thread, not tag on to another one.

I should have been charged $25.00 because I went to auto pay, online service loyalty customer & changed to the new offer.

Hi @stbiesty,

I think that the best idea is to wait for the moderators to get back to you.  Initially, I thought that you had an issue with Walmart end, but it also might be the Public Mobile billing side.  Be patient.  It will take 1-2 days for moderators to get back to you.  Good luck.  Let us know how things turn out....

@Dunkman i did, just the 28$ on each account one time

@stbiesty

Not sure what happened.... wait for the moderator response.  The $44 does not make any sense.....  did you find your walmart activation paper work?

@will13am you are correct, that was in response to walmart charge for 2 months, which we have now established, they don't do, so disregard that statement

okay, so the 4 charges don't yet make sense.

 - I was wondering why does my account say 'next payment date september 27th' if that is already covered, and why does my history not include both charges? Hmm this might take slightly further delving it seems.

@stbiesty, isn't September 27 exactly 30 days from the time you activated the account?  This service never charges more than one plan cycle at a time.

@Dunkman

I have looked at the charges in further detail.

-The first charge was made on the 28th (the actual ay we were in walmart) and it was $44.80. It has gone through and is no longer pending.

-The second 3 charges of $28 have gone through and are no longer pending. They went through on the 29th

-The last charge is still pending, $28 on the 30th

Sometimes in the online credit card statement, they combine pending and posted charges at the same time.  Is it possible that you were looking at both?

When I activated at Walmart, I got the typical credit card receipt that showed the total charge, which was just the 1st month plan due (since I also got free SIM card).

thanks for the reply, william, i could dispute the charges on the credit card end, but I don't want to dispute the wrong one and cancel my phone line haha. Okay, perhaps there is something wrong with the credit card side, I will contact the mods also incase something went wrong on the public mobile side.

The transaction in the account is totally correct and definitely does not reflect the extra charges.  I suggest seeking clarification with the store.  Since everything is correct on this end, it is hard to chase down the error with Public Mobile.

@stbiesty

Sorry, I made a mistake in typing.  Walmart would charge for only 1st month + taxes.

@Dunkman

okay, to clarify, Walmart would have set the account so that I am charged upfront for 2 months of the plan? This, in theory, should cover a good portion of september, and a good portion of october, correct? (we signed up on august 29th)

 There was no walmart receipt per say, just the piece of paper with our account information. We did not pay anything at walmart as they had the 'free sim' deal if the account was activated at the time.

 unfortunately, the guy there didn't tell us about thex2 months of pay, which isn't a huge issue, as long as we pay, and get the service.

 I will go and look at out piece of paper with account information now.

@stbiesty

If you just signed up at Walmart, Walmart would have charged your the first month, $28 x 2 plans.  Public Mobile will not charge you until your next payment which is next month.

Did the Walmart Rep make a mistake?  Your payment history looks correct to me.  August 29, Visa charge of $25 + taxes.  Your $25 plan was deducted.  You got your $10 friend referral credit and $2 autopay.  There is no mention of any $44 on your payment history.  What does your Walmart receipt show?
