I have managed to reset the password, tried to update my credit card information but max out on my login attempts. My account is currently locked for 3 hours before I can try again.
There should be a grace period for non payment of this type, just received a text message from her phone for non-payment and immediately her phone was shut down. No longer be able to receive calls. That's crazy!

There is no wait after entering in the password a bunch of times. The exceeded maximum login attempts messages can be dismissed by closing the browser and re-opening it.

Since you managed to change password but exceeded number of attempts to log in, wait required time and then try to log in again. No harm done except loss of service for few hours.
If you cannot log in after few hours, contact agent to reset your password.
