@Rodger1 Is this a question or a statement? If you want to call the US you need a long distance add on. This can be purchased in your self serve account. Remember it is a 2 step process. First add the funds required, THEN buy the add on. 1000 USA minutes for $15.
Just to be a little more accurate. You do NOT have to ADD any funds before you buy any add-on. Your account balance may already have enough funds to cover the purchase or may only need to be topped up by a few dollars. Just thought I would mention as often it is assumed that a first time add-on buyer that has problems has neglected to ensure enough funds are in your account balance OR has neglected to make the actual purchase.

@Rodger1 It's 1.5 cents a minute and you need to purchase the US calling add-on for $15 for a 1000 minutes. Note the minutes stay in your account and do not expire until all used up.

Do you have any data?
Hangouts dialer (Google) had great crisp sound and has your cellphone as display and it's totally free.
Also TextNow and Talkatone are very good and they give you free allternative number

@Rodger1 , is your inquiry in reference to making calls while in Canada or in the US? Follow the long distance add-on suggestion if you are making calls while in Canada. Follow the suggestion to buy US roaming add-ons if calling while in the US.

You can purchase an add-on for $15.
Any unused minutes will roll over to your next cycle.
1000 U.S. Long Distance Minutes - $15
Calls made to numbers starting with the following six digit combinations are not included in US calling from Canada and will not be completed when dialled: 712-432, 605-562, 641-552, 605-475, 605-477, 712-775, 559-726.
To purchase Add-Ons using your Self-Serve account, follow these steps:
- Click on ‘Purchase Add- Ons’ on the Overview tab and scroll down to the Add-On calculator.
- Click the plus sign (+) to add and the minus sign (-) to remove selected Add-ons.
- When you’ve added all your desired Add-Ons, click ‘Buy Add-Ons’ or ‘Make a Payment’ below the calculator:
- You will see ‘Make a Payment’ instead of ‘Buy Add-Ons’ if there are not enough funds in your account to make the purchase.
- If you don’t have sufficient funds to purchase the Add-Ons, you will be asked to make a one-time payment equal to the price of the Add-On, less your current available funds. Click ‘Submit’, then ‘Go back’: now the button below the calculator will say ‘Buy Add-Ons’.
- Select ‘Confirm my purchase’, and you’re off to the races!

It should work immediately. Did you buy the 10 Day US Roaming Add-on ? You need to make sure you have $$ in Available Funds, then go back and actually buy the plan you want.
