adding an inbound only number to a device

My wife and I both have PM accounts and are very happy with the service.  We also have a Vonage account that we never use but it has the phone number we have held for over 40 years.  Can the number be ported to PM to one of our phones as an inbound only number?  We will never want to originate a call on that number.  Can it be added to an existing SIM.  Looking for a free or very affordable solution.

@wilf2 , no carrier brand offers an option to use a number as an inbound number only.  If a number is ported in to an account, that will be the number for both inbound and outbound calls.  If this number has sentimental value, why not just use it as a daily driver?

Also, porting the number from Vonage to Public Mobile would cause the permanent loss of the current Public Mobile phone number.

@wilf2 most numbers can be ported. Check eligibility here:

But you would need new sim card at $10. Also you would have to create new email address and password.  It has to be separate from your existing.  All plans comes with unlimited incoming calls. Up to you if you make outgoing calls.

Looks like you can port your Vonage number over to PM but you will need a new SIM and create a new account with a different email address and pick a plan.

Wouldn’t be easier and less costly to just call forward your Vonage calls to your PM number?
