can I cancel an unused add on that i purchased by mistake

It is likely that the key to success with this would be based on three factors:

1. That you did not consume any of the unneeded add-on, 
2. That it was somewhat recently purchased,
3. That you approach and request this of the moderators politely.

Even if you are in the above situations, please be prepared to accept the amount being placed in your "available funds" to be used as a credit toward future service and not a refund to the payment card.

The moderators are very forgiving with "honest" mistakes. Contact them as supplied by @Triguy  and explain your mistake and ask for a credit to be applied to your account. If you meant to purchase anothe add on you can ask them to add it instead and they will credit the difference in price to your account.

They usually don't provide refund.  But it doesn't hurt to try opening ticket with Mod
