Yet again another person with the US network/coverage issue

Hi everyone,

I have the $34 50GB Canada-USA plan since Black Friday 2023, and I'm currently in New York City, USA. Unfortunately, I can't use my data and my reception is extremely spotty, making it practically unusable.

I've read through all the answers and suggestions from everyone here and on the unofficial subreddit (r/PublicMobile). I've tried all the recommended steps, including:

  • Resetting network settings
  • Deselecting auto network selection and manually switching between AT&T and T-Mobile
  • Setting the phone to 4G/LTE only (no 5G or 3G)
  • Activating VoLTE
  • Ensuring roaming is ON
  • Restarting the phone multiple times

Despite these efforts, nothing seems to work. Has anyone else experienced this issue where every proposed solution is unsuccessful? If so, what did you do to resolve it?

I have an Pixel 8 Pro and I have been using Public Mobile from the beginning when I bought it unlockedé

there was actually no $34-50GB on the Black Friday sales

Can you login My Account and check if it says anything about US included?  If nothing indicates that, you need to use Chatbot to open ticket with PM

I could be wrong, apologies if I am, but are you certain that plan was available around Black Friday?  The one I'm finding advertised around then for $34 was for 40GB Canada only.

Thank you, I'll do the powering off instead of restarting. Yes I've contacted support, I just wanted to share my experience with the community and to help people in the future with the same issue. 
I've talked to CS, they reset my settings, asked me to power off and try again. If it doesn't work, switch to 2g, call to Canada, switch back to 4G/LTE.

I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks !

Try going for a drive to a different part of town to see if things improve...could just be you're in a fringe area with poor reception.

is it possible to try your PM sim in a different unlocked phone to see if that helps.

Looks like you did everything correctly. Did you power off your phone rather than restart your phone?

Did you try Verizon? They were just added to the US Roaming carrier.

Only option is to contact a CS_Agent for help.
