Will a 5G Data Plan Work on a $G Cellphone?

Hi!

Hopefully will be able to get a Black Friday Sale for renewing my plan this weekend, if the website eventually works.

But wondering why the 5G plans are better deal than 4G plans. So will my data work if I get a 5G plan, and use it on my 4G phone?

The most important thing is to have a good coverage. I would go with 5G data cause is faster for download large amount of data.

Since it was already answered, I will add that, if you want, you can even use 4G on a 5G plan on 5G phone. You can set that in settings on your phone

Sure that you can use 5G plan in a 4G phone, while you are with the lower 4G speed since your phone doesn’t support 5G protocol. But just in case you would upgrade your phone to 5G compatible , the 5G plan would be better.

@Chris_  Yes it will work fine and you will get faster speeds then being on 5G plan then on a 4G plan with phone set to 4G/LTE

Yes you can use a 5G plan on a phone that's not 5G.
