If you use Android, check out the Green Power app. It does a good job of enabling and disabling connectivity according to a schedule.
You will need a rooted phone, however, for it to enable and disable your data connection.
Cheers.

Silver lining:
I'm going to take a few moments to share a personal story.
One year ago I was in a crumbling relationship and it ended quite suddenly. I quickly moved into a very small apartment and got on with my life.
It was very challenging, but I did it, like so many other people have done. A year later, now, I am in a new, healthy relationship, and I am very happy!
I realize this has nothing to do with cell phone service. But I think it's important to periodically reflect on what we do have in our lives, as opposed to what we don't have.
Cheers!

While I don't have a porting issue myself, I think it's awesome that you can maintain positivity and a sense of humour through this.
