I updated my phone to the new IOS and now it is asking me for my SIM PIN. What is my SIM PIN?

Unless you have manually changed it, your SIM card PIN is 1234. 1234 is the default for all Public Mobile SIM cards. As you have mentioned both PIN and PUK earlier, please be aware that those are different codes.

You would need to contact customer service agent for the PUK as described in the first post.

I bought the SIM from Public Mobile.
I am not getting an error message. When I tried to send a text a screen came up asking me to enter my SIM PIN. Can you send me the PUK?

was it asking SIM PUK? What was the exact error message?
If on an iPhone's About->Carrier Lock showing "SIM locked"
You have to ask the carrier where you got the phone from for the carrier help unlocking it.
