Want to Cancel my Subscription to Public Mobile

FRANCIS21

Hello there

I want to cancel my subscription to Public Mobile. Please can somebody advise what I should do.  In my account page I do not find the place where I should delete my credit card number to which my monthly fee is charged.

Earlier one of the Moderators used to reply to me. Now nobody is replying. I have written 2 messages before and have received no reply.

Please can somebody or one of the Moderators reply to me.

Thank you

@FRANCIS21 - if you are not getting responses from CS_Agent then respond back to the message you sent. Your message can be found the SENT area of your private messages. Just click the down arrow by your INBOX and you can see the SENT messages.

FYI, Public Mobile Moderators are now called Customer Support Agents (CSA), private message them as 'CS_Agent'.

@FRANCIS21

if you're planning on making calls to US, that $15 add-on is what you need for 1000 minutes of calling to most any number in US. If you don't use them all up right away, they stay on your account. I have some add-on minutes from 3 years ago.

Pretty much no refunds here. How long ago did you buy it?

But you have us 🙂 . Why are you wanting to cancel the service?

Hello Everybody

Thank you for all your replies. Now I got the page where I can unsuscribe. Still I could not figure out how to PM somebody.  Also I have paid $15 for US calls which I have not used. just wondering if I will get a refund of that or I have to simply forget about it. I do not know. The fact that we do not get into contact with a Call Centre or a CS Agent who replies to emails is very very frustrating at least for me. May be I am old generation.

Thank you

Francis

@FRANCIS21  Use this direct link to it

and turn off auto subscribe

No, the email is just a notification to you of the fact that you got a private message. Then you come back here and go into the private messaging area to read it and maybe respond to it.

Autopay is called subscription now. You basically unsubscribe which only just turns off autopay.

Hello Everybody

In response to my post I got lots of replies. I do not know how to pick up that message and reply to that. So I am writing a new message to thank everybody. Unfortunately the Moderators are not writing.

In my Account Page I cannot see the Menus where I can opt to discontinue or stop autopay.

Can somebody guide me.  Also If I reply from my email to the person who wrote to me does the reply go to them.

@LitlLdy- But then you get complained at and launch into flame wars because nobody likes to be corrected. Yes, the two mentions of removing the credit card are incorrect.

Adding - @LitlLdy - well there you go, you called it, the oracle agreed with you.

Just stop paying. Unfortunately, you can't remove the credit card yourself. But you can turn off autopay. You can change the card however to something like a visa gift card that has no money left and then the autopay won't work. You can pause the credit card overnight of the renewal.

It's all about stopping paying.

@dust2dust , right! We can disable/turn off our autopay (subscription) but I see others stating that you can remove your credit card/payment card! As far as I know that option was removed from allowing us from doing this ourselves long ago! Only a CS_Agent can remove our credit card/payment card on our account for us!

@FRANCIS21 - if you know the 4 digit account pin, call 611 to remove autopay. Then in 90 days in nonpay status the account automatically closes.

EDIT, this is of course, that you do not have enough funds already in your Available Funds area to automatically renew. If you do have enough funds, than list your phone into lost/stolen and same happens after 90 days in suspended/nonpay, account will close.

To "cancel" the plan, you can either port out your number to another provider and your account will be closed upon successful port out of the number

Or you can disable the toggle "Subscribed" to disable Pre-Authorized payment instead.  Once it is disabled, PM will not be able to renew your account on your next renewal , your account will then be suspended on that day and 90 more days, it will be closed

To disable Pre-Authorized payments (Turn off Subscribed) , you can do it by one of the following:

  • If you know the 4 digits account pin, dial *611 from your phone (or 1.855.4PUBLIC from another phone)
enter the account pin, then Press 5 for Autopay and 2 to remove
  •  Login to My Account, go to Payment page, click Manage Subscription, then turn off the Subscribed toggle.

@FRANCIS21

are you planning to port your number to new network ? If so, your PM account is automatically closed once you've successfully ported to new cell provider.

Porting out to another provider automatically cancels your subscription here.

Under the payment tab in self-serve, tap the enable auto pay area to remove the associated credit card.
