Trying to figure out how my voicemail notifications work... I think I'm missing notifications.
I've just removed all moicemails from my service. I then called my phone, and left a voicemail message.
My phone displayed within few moments, a notification of a new voicemail.
Should this happen everytime a new voicemail is left, or does it only display if my voicemail box was previously empty?
Running an iPhone 5s on the latest released iOS (9.3.5)

Thanks to you both. I'm coming from a carrier who sent me a txt message for every voicemail, didn't know what I should be expecting.

You should always get a notice when a new voice mail comes in your Voice mail inbox. VM notification will not disappear until you listen the voice mail.
thanks

Hi @stonechucker;
I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter whether your mailbox was empty or not, but am unsure if you will get one for every new message left or just the first one between mailbox visits.
