Voice service suddenly stopped on my iPhone 7 (iOS 15.8.4). It is set to LTE, but banner on screen changes to 3G when call attempted. Call actually rings to selected party, but no voice transmission/reception. Text, email, data all working fine. I changed speaker and microphones, no difference. My Sim works in an iPhone 13, and apparently a Sim from another provider also works in my phone. Is there a network compatibility issue for Public Mobile with iPhone 7? If so, is there a fix? Hate to dump my phone for such a reason, suppose I could look at other providers.

If it is not compatible. You can transfer the SIM card s/n to eSIM on your iPhone 13 and have your other carrier SIM in your phone.
All carriers will drop 3G in Canada so your iPhone 7 can only use data for web search or texting or emailing.

hi @Steve1954
the phone itself still works on PM network, you can use 3G for voice and 3G/4G for data and text
just that you cannot use VoLTE and you might have problem with voice calls if PM has not 3G in the area

You are going to have to get a newer phone. The oldest iPhone that will work with PM is iPhone 8.

As 3G is in the process of being dropped across Canada, you’ll need a VoLTE capable device — in other words an ancient iPhone 8 as the minimum
Good luck with other Canadian providers as you’ll have the same issues once they too have dropped their 3G networks

I am pretty sure that iPhone 7 is not VoLTE capable with Public Mobile. I believe iPhone 8 is the oldest version of iPhone that will work without access to 3G service.

@Steve1954 , I am not totally familiar with iPhones but sounds like you are not getting VoLTE on that phone. Please ensure you are running the latest iOS software and use the link below to check VoLTE compatibility.
