Unlock a public mobile phone to give the phone to someone

Hi! 

I am trying to unlock my phone. It was a telus phone before so I didn't need to unlock it to go to publicmobile, but now I need to unlock it to give it to my dad.

Does someone know how to unlock a telus/koodo/publicmobile phone that was last used with public mobile. 

I read that I may need to get in touch with a publicmobile employee to get the right codes and acheve this.

@leavefootprints If you purchased phone after 2017 then the phone should be unlocked otherwise you should go to local Telus store asking staff to unlock for you.
