Purchased phone with Canada wide long distance on Sept 17, as my husband needed a phone for emergency contact while I am hundreds of miles away working. This had to happen quickly, and I was unable to register online, while the phone was with both of us.
So. when I try to register, the phone gets a text msg with a access code. ....the phone is with my husband....so I can't get the code. When we last talked, he gave me the code.. I tried to register with it, but the system gives me a new code...which I can't access. argh.

@RuthM, you can't get by without setting up a self serve account. This is an online service. The retail partners only have access to the activation portal. They have no facility to offer customer service type support. Going through the moderator team for transactions that you can do on your own is not practical. Their turnaround time is around 48 hours at the moment. For now, one thing you can do is perhaps is buy vouchers and have your husband use 611 on the phone to do account top ups until you can set up a self serve account. Vouchers can be purchased at retail partners and online at recharge.com.

@RuthM wrote:heehee ..Yup the phone has data plan. No he has no idea how to use text or wifi(nor does he want to know). Perhaps he can go back to the store and then can help him. What a pain!
The other alternative is for me to go to a store to make a payment when I need to....again a pain to keep track of usage time. But thanks for your thoughts. 🙂
Well. It is about time for him to learn how to use his phone.
Even if you want to pay at store, I don't think the store are equipped to accept payment for PM. At least, you cannot do it for him. He need to take his phone to a store and get help on how to pay his phone bill using a voucher.
PM plan is a DIY phone plan.
Did you pay for his plan using credit card during activation in-store and enabled the autopay?
If yes, PM will take money from your credit card every 30 days.
If no, you cannot setup his online account. After 30 days, his phone will not work unless he learns how to read the text message to give you the code over his phone.
Another option is use the PM SIM for 30 days and switch to another carrier.

The other option is that when you are talking to him next, try the setup then and have him read the code to you. What's happening is that too much time is passing before you enter the code, and it expires.

Does your husband have data on the phone or does he have access to wifi? If so he can register it solving the issue.
