Unable to add my friend's referral code upon signing up

Hi,

I signed up for the public mobile $34/ 30gb 4G plan but I was unable to enter my friend's referral code. I was afraid that the promo would run out so I signed up to avoid the error saying the code is invalid. 

I know I was entering the right code because I took a screenshot of their referral code. Please help me.
