I have an OPPO RENO 2 and the $36 50 GB plan. I am going from Canada to the US for one week. Will my phone work there?

You should have read your previous post before purchasing the USA Roaming Add-on so why would you be pissed?

@MartinSinclair1 As was explained in your earlier thread, the Oppo phone may not work for voice calls in the USA since it is not on the VoLTE approved list for Public Mobile. Did you try the method to test it that was mentioned before you left? The problem is that the USA shut down their 3G networks in 2022 so a phone that can't use Voice over LTE will not work for voice calls there. You could try T-Mobile on 2G but it too is being shut down.

Oppo phones are not listed as approved on AT&T, one of PM's US roaming partners, either

@MartinSinclair1 what type of phone do you have? Must be a VoLTE enabled phone on PM whitelist.
Ensure roaming is turned on. Try to connect manually to AT&T or Verizon.
Reset networks and try again.

Paid $15 yesterday for US roaming and today in US and not working. Good way to piss customers off.

This dialer sequence generally works with android phones. Apart from the couple of carrier brands, it is difficult for android uses to discern VoLTE compatibility. VoLTE capability on iPhone is far more clear.

I think it depends on the phone/manufacturer?? I had the same problem with a phone on another carrier, the diagnostic codes didn't always work. A way around it is to see if you can find "IMS registration" in the settings (or do the wifi off, data on, make a phone call to see if it switches from LTE to 3G (or 4G in some phones). I think the IMS registration may be in the sim card settings on an Android.

@MartinSinclair1 , based on your plan information, that plan does not included US roaming and so you will need to either buy a roaming addon or change to a plan that includes US roaming in order to be able to use the service in the US. As for VoLTE capability which will be necessary in order to make phone calls while in the US, please check the whether you see VoLTE or HD in the notification bar on your phone. That is an indicator that VoLTE is enable for the phone. Alternatively, you can call up a hidden menu by dialing *#*#4636#*#* to check the IMS status to see if VoLTE is registered. I would not necessarily rely on the VoLTE whitelist as the list generally does not cover non carrier brand devices.

if you do not have a Canada/US plan or Canada/US/Mexico plan, then yes, you have to buy one of the roaming add-on:
Bundle - US Roaming - Talk, Text and 3GB Data (15 days)- $30 (25 Reward points)
Bundle - US Roaming - Talk and Text (15 days) - $15 (10 Reward points)
Data - US Roaming - 250 MB Data (15 days) - $10.00 (5 Reward points)
Data - US Roaming - 1GB Data (15 days) - $20.00 (15 Reward points)
Data - US Roaming - 3GB Data (15 days) - $25.00 (20 Reward points)

data would certainly work in US.
But since your phone is not on PM's VoLTE whitelist (https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/volte) , there is a chance voice calls might not work when you are in US.
So, it is best to use VoIP app , like TextNow or Fongo, as a backup. Download one of those app, setup another 10 digits phone number. You can then use Mobile data or Wifi to make or receive calls on the app
