US Roaming

Hi,

I live in Canada and I am on a trip to the US right now. I took a 10-day roaming package with 250 MB of data. When I try to text to confirm reservations at restaurants, for example, it says I can receive but not send texts to US numbers….I don’t recall having that issue in the past….What can I do to be able to text local numbers ?

@mhdenault - so you have used Roaming services in usa with issue before? Is your Roaming setting on in the device settings?

If you purchased the Roaming addon that includes texting, can you either make or receive calls?

Maybe also check you successfully added the Roaming addon to your My Account, in the dashboard. 

If restarting your phone did not help you get reconnected correctly, try a reset of you device's network settings.

If you only bought a 10-day US roaming data add-on then the only text you could send will be MMS. You can still receive SMS texts without any US roaming add-ons and you can send MMS because you have a US roaming data add-on.

Manually connect to T-Mobile. You could try AT&T or even Verizon (test).

Talk is the basis of the problem. But text and data should work. Only T-Mobile, using their old 2G GSM, is available for talk now.

Adding - did you buy the $20 roaming bundle? Or just the 250mb data add-on?
