I just purchased US roaming 10 days and it takes effect immediately. I'm not planning to go there for a few days.
To me it seems like a rip off ... surely the plan would take effect at first usage.
Question:
Can one cancel and get a refund until I'm ready to go? If so, how do you go about this?

Officially there are no refunds at pm. When you contact customer support explain your honest mistake and ask that they remove the add on and credit your account. You can then use those funds to purchase the US Roaming add on upon departure or arrival in the US. Reboot your phone after purchase. Be sure to enable roaming and manually select at&t or T-Mobile.
