In May of last year when I went to Alaska the US roaming plan didn't work for me, since T-Mobile doesn't have coverage there. Has PM partnered with AT&T to bring roaming to Alaska? Anyone have roaming success recently?

Cellular coverage is (from all I've read) very poor in Juneau, Alaska. Then you add an overseas device with limited North American bands to the equation, isn't going to be the best combo unfortunately.
There are a lot of tower sharing agreements in Alaska (between Alaskan service providers), as they don't all have full coverage everywhere. It's possible that you're in one of their partner network coverage areas, which may not extend to those of us roaming via international carriers. I'm just spit balling here though. Sorry I can't be of much help.

Thanks for your help!
I enabled roaming, am sure to have the US plan, am using a Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 with the latest HyperOS version. This is not a common phone though... I don't have any cellular access (phone, text, data)

Thanks for your response. Did you make sure to enable data roaming from within your device settings? And you're sure you have the US version of the $34 plan, and not the Canada only version?
What phone are you using? Is the software up to date? Is it just data that isn't working, or all services (phone and text as well)?

I am new with PM, I have the 50GB US/Can plan. Didn't have the chance to try in another state. I tried Verizon as well and GCI, but get the same result. Thanks!

@PzKfWg Have you successfully used it in other states? What plan do you have?
You could also try Verizon, as they are apparently a roaming partner now too.

AT&T 4G now works in the US, including Alaska; but as @softech mentioned, AT&T 5G does not work, though your phone may try to connect to it anyway. Make sure to set your preferred network to 4G to avoid issues.

for some reason, you MUST have volte enabled phone for use in Alaska. PM has a whitelist of cells that they've turned volte ON.

@Mechajerm1 AT&T is also a PM roaming partner and people have been connecting to it. Please manually connect to AT&T, change network mode to 4G or LTE (not 5G)
