I have the $25 plan with unlimited Canada-wide talk (and I'm on AutoPay). I purchased the US talk add-on. I was in Montreal enroute to FL and tried calling my husband in FL to let him know my flt arrival time, and I got a msg saying I used up all my minutes and to call 611 to add more minutes. What's up??

Hope you were able to use any msging app to convey the msg about your flight.
Autopay does not let you buy add-ons. Fund your account before you buy add-on.

Purchasing Add-Ons is a 2-step process:

@joanedwards : Nope. Autopay is only used for plan renewals. Add-ons need to see the money first to be able to buy them.

I am on AutoPay...I assume whatever add-on I may choose would be added to my regular bill at month-end and the payment taken automatically.

@joanedwards : The roaming only works when in the US. Also, did you do the 2 steps of buying the add-on? Deposit money, buy add-on.
To call the US while in Canada would need the US long-distance add-on.

When did you purchase the roaming add-on ? It expires 10 days after purchase.
