@PremalRajguru   You mentioned calling US from Canada to check - does that mean you are planning to visit the USA?  If you are visiting the USA and don't have a Canada-US (Mexico) phone plan then you need the add on you got but it won't work for calling from Canada.  That's the difference between the add on and the plans.  With the Canada-US plans you can call either country from the other.  Without a Canada-US plan you would need the US long distance minutes add on to call the US from Canada, and you would need the US roaming add on for calls made when you are in the USA.

OK. The add on you purchased was wrong. You purchased a roaming package meaning this package you purchased was if you were in the United States roaming. The Add On you want for calling the US is a different one. It's $15.

Make sure you add 1 then the area code and then the 7 digit phone number. Do know, certain numbers can't be called from Canada.

EDIT: Added this.

Calls made to numbers starting with the following six digit combinations are not included in US calling from Canada and will not be completed when dialed: 712-432, 605-562, 641-552, 605-475, 605-477, 712-775, 559-726.
