Trouble with transferring phone number

Tee72

I just joined public mobile.  I wanted to keep my old number.  Every seemed to work during installation and I got all the codes and emails saying it I should be good to go in 5 hours…  But it’s been more than 24 hours and my number is still “awaiting activation “. I cannot sentence text messages at all.  And all other features only work if I’m on wifi.  Help!!!

Hey everyone! Thank you for the suggestions.  What fixed my issue was taking out the SIM card from my previous provider!  Thanks for the support!!

@Tee72 to Reset Network Settings

IPhone

open the Settings app, tap General, then select Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Enter your passcode and confirm the reset

Android :

go to Settings, then find the Reset options menu (often under System or General Management), select Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth, and tap Reset Settings to clear all Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile data configurations.

You don't need to reset your phone or do a factory reset. A Network Reset is just a way to clear the connection between your phone and the Public Mobile network.

When you say you have the old SIM card in your phone (the old service provider) is it now on SOS? If so, turn off your phone and insert the Public Mobile SIM card and restart your phone. This should get you up and running. If not, then do find that Network Settings and reset it as it forces the connection between you and PM.

Hey @Tee72

1. Have you rebooted your phone?

2. If you place your old SIM card in the phone, do you still have service?

3. To confirm, did you receive a text from your old service provider asking permission to port?

4. Have you tried to reset your network settings and reboot the phone? This would clear your network connections and reset your connection to Public Mobile.
