I am trying to subscribe to public mobile services however, they keep asking me to authorize the cancellation of my account with my old provider. The only issue is I still have additional services with that provider, so I dont want them to cancel my account just the one line. If I give only the IMEI number rather than my account number for my past service provider would this fix that.

Also, I have seen PM confirm that this is a PM issue under other posts, yet PM has offered no still offered no help. It's an extreme inconvenience as I have an exam tomorrow and need this fixed urgently, and it is exceptionally difficult getting in contact with anyone in a timely manner.

I have seen many others in this community with this exact same problem. Even though my ESIM is activated my phone still displays "no sim". I am also only able to use data and calling however basic SMS texting does not work. I also noticed in my settings there is no actual phone number displayed anywhere when I go within the ESIM settings. I keep getting connected with bots when I try to message an agent, and I opened a ticket already but nobody has responded.

@Gianluca I ported my line from another provider by giving the account number and it didn't close the account, which was in another family members' name. It just transferred the one line to Public Mobile and left the rest of the account intact.

Hey @Gianluca
Best advice to give, just sign up for the service, get a temporary number, make sure calls in and out work, make sure texting in an out work and make sure data works. If all work, you can go into your account online or on the app and port over the number later.
The timing of whether the customer asks the phone number to be ported to Public Mobile during activation or at a later time is unrelated to how it will affect the other phone number (the phone number nto being ported to Public Mobile) at the other carrier.

@Gianluca Don’t use the IMEI number just use old providers account number once you have successfully ported number into public mobile it will just cancel the number your porting to PM from old provider it won’t close the whole account with the other number on there you want to keep no worries
