Transferring number to new provider

My Bell number was ported to Public Mobile on May 18. The eSIM is installed correctly on my Samsung phone and is turned on, but the line still shows “Unknown number” in SIM Manager.

I am currently in Israel. The Public Mobile SIM can detect Israeli networks (Partner, Cellcom, HOT), but every network rejects registration and I cannot receive SMS messages, including verification texts.

I have already:

- rebooted the device

- disabled RCS

- reset network registration

- selected the Public Mobile eSIM as primary

- tested inbound and outbound SMS

This appears to be a provisioning or roaming activation issue on the Public Mobile/TELUS side, not a phone configuration issue. Please check:

- roaming provisioning

- SMS provisioning

- eSIM activation status

- whether the port fully completed

- whether the MSISDN/phone number is properly attached to the eSIM profile

hi @Patootyk

the International minutes are to call from Canada to other countries, not to be used when you are in another country

PM does not have roaming services in Israel

Then why can you purchase international minutes?

Thank you but I won't be back...now what 😞

@Patootyk

PM does not have roaming in Israel and hence the Public Mobile sim won't connect to any network in Israel

when will you be back? you can only continue setting up and troubleshoot when you are back

but for RCS, if you leave the PM esim on, and enable Roaming  on the phone, then RCS will work if you have wifi there or if you have a local sim or travel esim.   (Leaving Roaming on the phone won't get you roaming services, but that is for Google RCS to know the Public Mobile sim is there)
