Your number must be active with your old carrier to port your number over to PM.
If it is not active (not in service) than you need to pick a new number.

first, remove your phone number. We are just customers here and you don't want to tell us the phone number
and did you request porting when you subscribe using the PM app?. did you request porting and provide the account number? did you receive a text from your old carrier and did you reply Yes?
if you reply Yes, the port would be done within 2 hours. Reboot the phone with the PM sim card and test inbound calls
if after 2 hours and you still unable to receive inbound calls on the PM sim card, then It could be an incomplete port. PM porting support team can help. I have sent you the porting support team number. Please check your Community inbox (https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/privatenotespage), check for the number and call.
