The money I paid for my plan went to Koodo Mobile, not Public Mobile

Hi,

Can anyone figure out what wrong with that?  The money I paid for new plan went to Koodo Mobile, not Public Mobile.  I used my Costco Capital One credit card to pay and activate a new number.  The money went into Koodo Mobile.  I have contacted Costco Capital One credit card to charge back the money.  As I have double checked my the other Capital one credit card, all the money I paid to Public Mobile were into Public Mobile's account.

If the activation was done in-store and the store identifies themself to the payment processor as Koodo Mobile, that's what will show up.  And if that is the case, I would suggest contacting your card issuer again and telling them not to do the chargeback. A chargeback can possibly make it so that Public Mobile will refuse to accept credit cards from you, and in the past, they have required customers to send a money order to repay for plan.

@MinnieMic   I have read your post again.  You asked your CC to reverse your money?  I am almost certain it's a charge on Public Mobile (unless you have another service with Koodo that will charge the same amount).  If your CC proceed with reversing the charge, I wonder if it will affect your current service.

Another question, did you activate the account online or in a store?  I wonder if that will make the difference.

It should show as "public mobile" on your credit statement. Does for me so that would be odd.

@MinnieMic Are all your services working okay?

If so, no worries, you should be A-Okay!

Since Public Mobile is a Telus owned company (and so is Telus) you should be fine.

Are you looking at a credit card statement showing Koodo...can you elaborate a bit?

@MinnieMic   did you activate your plan succesfully and able to use it without issue?

both Koodo and PM are owned by Telus and they both use Telus network, so.  no worry, you  are on good hand. 🙂
