Hey!
I just got a new iPhone 5 and switched from a Public Mobile Samsung-sized SIM card to one that fit in my iPhone. I activated my new SIM card number with my Public Mobile account, and now calls work but I can't send or recieve texts.
Please help! I need to be able to text family members!

Did you get it to work? I have tried my PM Sim in my 5s - 6s and also my new 7 but texting will not work at all - I'm not using PM anymore and using Bell prepaid for only $15 + tax which includes unlimited - texting and local calls -

APN settings do not affect texting; they are for data.
If you had texting before then something is wrong with your account and, unfortunately, you will need moderator assistance. Send any one of them a private message ( @Mary_M for example) with your phone number and an explanation. Coverage is currently:
Mon-Thursday 9am(EST) to 9pm(EST) and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9am(EST) to 5:30pm(EST).
At least iMessage will work with your friends who have iPhones.

@Antonette Here's a couple of suggestions for texting with iPhone:
a) check your self serve account to be sure you have texting included in your plan,
b) set up messaging as follows: Settings >> Messaging >> iMessage toggle on, Send as SMS toggle on, MMS Messaging toggle on >> Send & Receive >> make sure "You can be reached at" shows your phone number
Let us know how you make our.
