Texting not work

Hi, a few days ago I finished the process of porting my phone number from Virgin Mobile to Public Mobile through Public Mobile's registration process. Along the process, I got the error message "Sorry, your account activation request has failed. Please visit our online community http://...." However, I managed to recreate a new account with same username and it succeeded. Now the problem is with text message feature. The data and voice call are working but not text (I signed up for the Fall promo $120/90 day). The text messages are still forwarding to my old SIM card, which I transferred the number from, on the other phone but not to my new Public Phone SIM card on my phone. Right now I have to continue using my other old phone (with old SIM card) to send and receive text messages while using the new phone with new PM SIM card for internet surfing and voice call.  Mod, can you please sort this out. Possibly the phone number porting isn't 100% completed?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Update: The texting feature is now working. Apparenantly one of mods followed up my message that I sent to them to complete the number porting. I haven't heard back from them however I received text from Public Mobile confirming the number transfer request has been completed. So everything seems to work well now.

Update: Interesting, after I talked with Virgin, they said that they didn't receive the phone number port request from Public Mobile. Clearly something went wrong during my account creation and activation process with Public Mobile even it stated the port was completed. So that means I will have to talk to one of mods to carry out the port process again to take my phone number off the Virgin's network.

I haven't hear back from the mod yet. Hope another mod can response to this asap as I want to use the text feature on my phone.

Thanks!

@hummuschips Great, thanks for your helpful advice. I agree, I should contact with Virgin to find out.

@wildwestislande Yes you'll have to contact the mods.  I would explain the situation that you're not receiving texts from only Virgin customers. You might want to test phone calls to and from virgin customers as well.  To me it looks like the port is only partially completed.

i don't know if it's worth a try, but maybe contact Virgin to see if they can see the status of the port on their side.

Hmm I think you are right, I think I receive text messages (to my new PM SIM card) from these who are NOT on Virgin Mobile. I still receive the text message from these who are on Virgin Mobile (and Bell) to my old Virgin SIM card on the other phone. Any idea what to do to resolve this? I have pm to a mod as well.

@wildwestislande I don't even know if the mods could ever say 100% if a port is fully complete considering a lot of it depends on e system on the other carriers side as well.  The best thing to do would be to text a few friends to make sure it looks like everything is working properly.

Thanks for such quick prompts! Now I think texting is working. I just tested sending a text message to myself via email to text. Also I finally got a few texts from my customers today. Maybe it's working now. Should I have a mod to double check that the number porting is indeed completed 100%?

Quick question. Is it only texts to people that use the same provider that you ported from or is it all texts?  You should gather all your into and pm a mod.  See the link below.

Best to contact a mod regarding this.  Looks like port issue.

But keep in mind the mods are really backlogged so dont expect a prompt response from them.
