Hello,
I'm writing to report that a number of my text messages have suddenly disappeared from my phone. Specifically, all messages under the contacts "JulieAnt" and "Julie" (which are my own number, used to save personal notes and reminders) are gone, as well as years of messages between myself and my wife, Josee. I did not delete them and have no idea why they disappeared.
I need to know what happened, whether Public Mobile played any role in this, and whether these messages can be recovered. Please escalate this to the right department and respond in writing as soon as possible.
My phone number is 416-xxx-xxxx.
Thank you,
Orville Hasfal

In the settings of your Samsung. In Settings-Apps-Messages-gear icon top right-More Settings-Is the Delete old messages button disable for message to be deleted after 1000 texts. If it is enabled then it will automatically delete older messages more than 1000 texts.

Thank you
HI @antonhaz
Pretty much no way unless you get Police involved. Even with that, they won't be able to recover text from too long ago

I have text messages in my phone for over 10 years. Only time they would be deleted is if you deleted them, your phone is automatically set to be deleted after certain time, you changed phones.
When I changed my phone, the old messages were stored on the old phone and the new messages started on my new one. Lucky I still have my old phone .

Thanks. I have no idea what happened, I checked the things you suggested but no help. The thing is, I had those text for long time, and included passwords etc. I wonder maybe too many text were saved, and the system might want to remove them for space...Anyway, I thank you for you reaching out. Appreciate you.

What phone do you have? Are you still using the same texting app as before? What about other chats? Possible some of them were archived?
Public Mobile definitely has nothing to do with this. It must be something on your phone, settings or backup related?

Please note this is a public community so no personal informational should be provided here. If you want to reach a Public Mobile staff member, you must use the orange chatbot to create a ticket.
It is not possible for a service provider to access your messages and to delete them. Check your message app to see if you have messages set to auto delete after a certain time frame.
If you have a cloud base service, you can check to see if they might be stored there. If not, unfortunately they are permanently gone.
