Seems like Telus has won as fastest network in Canada. Pay 30-38/ month on fastest network is great!

Public Mobile is also mentioned as best plan in Ontario, BC, Alberta and PEI

I don't know for sure, but that would be the safest approach if you want to ensure 4-CA works.

So essentially only the w variants like g955w will work. USA variants will not?

I would assume Note 8 is also able to use the same 4 carriers for CA. Not sure about other versions (different chipset) of S8. I doubt the new iPhones can do it, but I'm not sure. Apple usually doesn't support bleeding edge specs, as they prefer to focus on the overall customer experience.
He is referring to CA. Have a look here:

It involves combining multiple streams of frequencies/channels/spectrum in order to increase available internet data throughput speeds.

aggregation What does this word mean never have heard of it in my life
09-20-2017 02:13 AM
I am speaking about 4 carrier aggregation.

All iPhone mail afield can use public mobile and the x can as well so no worries there

So, the only phone that works is the S8 and S8+? No iPhones? Do you know if other versions of the S8 and S8+ are able to do 4 carrier aggregate?

I thought tell us and bell have a partnership booth use the same towers now so they could merge in too a mega corporation with telus tv and cellphone

LOL these tests mean nothing.
The fastest I ever got was still less than 20Mpbs, usually in the 8-15 range.
That's not bad IMO, but these tests must have been run in the dead of night, on an almost unused tower, that is close to whatever connects a cell tower to the actual internet.
Not to mention, and let's be honest here, who even CARES about download speeds when the data caps are so low? I mean, if you're getting what this article claims, you can blow through your 90 day data allowance in minutes. What's the point in even taking this one metric as a standard of the quality of a providers offerings?
EDIT:
"The third-largest Canadian carrier is now number one with a bullet, winning a tight battle with Bell for overall performance, sweeping the country's major cities and winning our population-weighted Speed Score."
"While Telus rules in big cities, Bell dominates midsize Ontario cities and Atlantic Canada"
Full disclosure: I live in Atlantic Canada
"Telus has done a lot of work optimizing its core network in the big cities"
I mean, sure, most Canadians now live in "big cities", but not all of us do. There are many small cities, towns, and even more rural areas (which sometimes don't have ANY coverage) that at least deserve to be accounted for.

This is great for advertising, nominally not a big deal for real world performance.

Yes, it has already been mentioned here:

Honestly I would say Telus and Bell are basically equal. The difference is so small that one of them will randomly win each year.

Hi guys
Good news. According to PCMag to PCMag‘s annual speed test, Telus offers Canadians the fastest wireless speeds. I live in North York, usually got 60 to 90 Mbps on my iPhone SE. It sounds we have more reasons stay with PM.

Go Telus Go! 🙂

Speed demons rejoice! I was just about to post the mobile syrup edition of this news. I still run an older phone, so my speeds are nowhere near these values. Unless the monthly usage increases to 40 gigs and beyond, it doesn't matter.
Itis interesting how Telus became a leader in Manitoba overnight with Bell buying MTS. Previously, you were lucky to get a signal outside of Winnipeg.

Also of course as we know Ontario (and other provinces) get ripped off.. The same 6GB/month for $30 less in QC/MB/SK

I dont get how Telus is faster then Bell... unless they tested Telus in the west and Bell in the east (actual native towers). The explaination given didnt make sense to me since they share towers.
