OK apparently the number being transfered has to be active..
Rodgers has reactivated the number so it can be transfered to Public Mobile as per instructions of TIcket person (number works except could not accept incoming calls)
Thanks....

If your phone number is on the active account and ready to be ported you can login to your account and port it from there. When you go to change my number, choose the option to transfer number.
Make sure you have all the relevant info, the best is to open it on another browser and copy/paste
As incoming calls are not working, this points to a number port already being attenpted. In those cases, the self serve system will not allow the customer to try again. Only a moderator can fix this.

Community members are customers. Customers cannot fix an account issue for you.
You need to open another ticket, provide the name of the person that the Rogers account belongs to, the phone nunber you wish to port in, and the Rogers account number. Do not post that information here. Provide that information only to the is username Moderaror_Team by opening a new ticket.

Number shows... yesterday when we activated the old number it transfered no problem except Rodgers had cancelled it...
So you could: get texts, call people and later we learned if you tried to call the number it said not assigned phone number
Ticket was made... we got a call this morning who said call rodgers to get number reactivated and then post here. A community member could then fix it takes about 1/2 hour?
When I got to the accounts page the number is there and does everything on the phone but recieve incoming calls...
Went to change number and tried to enter the number it now says this is not a transferable number - so that solution does not work..

Yes, your Rogers number must be active in order to port it to PM.
FYI
Number porting is a 2 stage process:
Stage 1. PM set up your old number on your PM account. Login to your account. Select the [Plan and Add-Ons] tab. Is your old number showing on the [Plan and Add-Ons] display?
If yes, PM has done its work to setup your old number for you to call out, send text and data.
Stage 2. Now, you are waiting for your old provider to release you number to PM. Not until your old provider release your number, all the incoming calls and texts will continue to go to your old provider. If your old SIM is still working, continue to use it until it stops working. Then, start using your PM SIM.
