Go through the Koodo check out process and enter promo code JOINKOODOAUGDATA then enter your PM phone number as the validation code, if it works, you are eligible.
If your friend has no intention of switching to Koodo, Koodo doesn't seem to have a problem with people using someone elses number for the promotion. You should be able to activate a new line with Koodo and port over your own phone number. Your friend would be unaffected.
