I had an iPhone 7. I activated my SIM card using that phone up until a couple weeks ago I decided to purchase a new Samsung. I simply popped my SIM card out of my iPhone and place it in my new Samsung and I've been using my phone ever since just fine. I gave my iPhone to my boyfriend to use, he bought a SIM card for different carrier. And apparently he cannot activate the SIM card with the phone because the emei number is attached to my SIM card? Completely confused I have no idea how to fix this

@Ashley_gosse Make sure your iPhone 7 is connected to WiFi and remove that phone from your Apple account. Reset the phone to factory settings.

@Ashley_gosse wrote:Yes my phone is working fine I took my Public Mobile SIM card out of the iPhone and placed it into the Samsung Galaxy and I'm able to use my phone just fine the problem is my boyfriend purchase a SIM card from PC mobile, placed it in the iPhone and it is saying that the SIM card cannot be activated because the iPhone IMEI number is still attached to the SIM card that is now currently in my Samsung Galaxy. So I'm not sure how to change the IMEI number attached to my SIM card so that he can use the iPhone
Are you on the iPhone sim activation screen? Also did you clear your Apple accounts and factory reset the phone?

Contact Telus to unlock your phone.

You should be able to activate the sim card regardless of what phone you have, unless it's locked. When you're asking a question please mention which provider you were with before.

@Ashley_gosseSounds like your phone is locked to the Telus network. You would have to contact either Koodo or Telus whichever is your provider your phone is before Public Mobile to get it unlocked.
