Subscription raise in 4 years

Clémentine
Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

Hi,

I don't think my first post was published a couple of days ago, so I'm trying again!

About three or four years ago, when I first chose my phone plan, I was paying $9.00/month. It was the cheapest subscription, and it was perfect for me, as I only need a Canadian phone number when travelling.

Now, for the same services, my phone subscription is $18 ($21.56 with HST). Can anybody tell me why?

It has doubled in less than five years! It feels like the new Netflix, where you start off by paying $9, and before you know it, you end up paying $20.

hi @Clémentine

you paid $9 because you have friend referral as credits towards bill

2 or 3 years ago, PM changed everyone to Public Points, you still earn the same, but not $1 directly towards bill, it is 1 point, same as $1.  But you need to collect to 20 points to redeem $20 at a time.  So, you pay full price first, and check Rewards portal and redeem whenever you have 20 points.   But old loyalty rewards was gone.

and your $15 plan had became $18 since end of Oct

that's why you are paying $18 + tax now.  But once in awhile, you can get that $20 off
