I subscribed to Public Mobile five days ago. I was told that I need to purchase a sim card so I did that at our local Telus Store. I specifically asked for my number to be ported as I have had it for many years. This morning my phone got connected to Public Mobile but only with the temporary number they set up. Customer support told me that the number was still being ported this morning and now it is mid afternoon and I still don't have my old number. I tried opening my banking app and it wants my old phone number for two step verification which I don't have. If customer support lost my number, is it possible to get it back? Thanks!

The issue has been resolved. Calling the porting team did the trick. I tested by logging into my banking app and the two factor verification was sent to my phone. Thanks!

No. A CS_Agent did it for me. I originally scanned a QR code for an eSIM transfer and selected the option to port the number. Something went wonkers and the CS_Agent created a temporary for me which still didn't work. My next option was to buy a sim chip from the Telus store. This only got connected this morning but my old phone wasn't ported to it. However the temporary number became active.

Thanks for the number. I called the porting tam and and a rep answered. She check my number and said that there were some errors so she submitted a ticket. If they need to get a hold of me for info, they will call me on the temporary number that does work. I do believe she said it will take a couple of hours to fix whatever issues there are. I will post here when they resolve the porting issues. Thanks!

You set up the account with a TEMP number yourself....correct?
Then YOU need to port the number over from the PM APP. It should only take an hour at the most.
