Slow servers, can't change plan?

limenuke0

Let's not kid ourselves. The servers for public mobile are complete garbage, and super slow.

Today, I couldn't touch the page to change my plan. However, the other pages (For data usage, profile, etc) work. What's going on?  How can I change my plan?

@limenuke0 for this very reason, it's always best not to leave things till the last minute when making changes to your account.

when you login and you don't see your plan amount in the overview page. you will not be able to access the plans page at the current moment. you will have to try again later in the day.

It is very unacceptable and a widely known problem within Public Mobile and it's users.

It is not unusual for the self-serve site, depending on network traffic on the site, to take upwards of 40 seconds to load either the landing page or selections made within self-serve.

Some folks likely cancel and re-load thinking that'll speed things up, yet it only starts the process again.  I have not found that incognito makes any difference.

It's best to just let the site work and it should eventually load.  I've had to give up a couple of times when the load time was exceeding 1 minute.

Regarding changing your plan, when you do get it, it's recommended to change plan on next renewal (as opposed to making an 'immediate' plan change) so as not to forfeit what's been paid on your current cycle.

@limenuke0

You are right.  Website is finicky and slow at times.

I just tried right now and changing plans works fine with me.  I am using desktop, Windows 10.  Chrome web browser.

Maybe try a different device.  Different web browser, clear cache or incognito mode.  Another option is to try late at night, when the traffic is slower.

yes, their sever is always slow.. Activation always timeout and created lots of confusion..

maybe addon goes through same server or backend process and hence also slow

they really should improve this given that it's a fully online servicer..

@limenuke0 no kidding, you are right, Self Serve can be downright silly slow.

  • clear your browser's cache
  • open a tab in incognito mode
  • use different browsers

EDIT - i just opened my SELF SERVE in 2 different browsers BUT the plan change plan does not result in options on one of the browsers...so keep trying.
