I am on step 3 of the activation. I paid for a monthly service, put the sim in the slot of my iPhone but when I get to the part in the Public Mobile app when I say I have a sim I get unable to display page error. Do I have to do something on my iPhone to setup the sim?

Did you completed to step 6 Activation?
If you did then reboot your phone by powering off then back on.

@Pat271 you are using a physical sim to activate?
Can you uninstall the app, reinstall and try to login and complete the activation?
if that does not work, you might need to open ticket with support for further help
