Setting up a new SIM card

robsteene

I am trying to set up a new SIM card, switching over from TELUS. I have already done my wife's a few months ago and now trying to do mine I keep getting an error message. I have cleared my bill with TELUS twice now. Tried calling them a month ago, tried again now and it still gives me an error and will not go through.

@robsteene

Have you tried using another browser in private mode (ex. Chrome incognito)?

If you still want to contact CS :

https://widget.telus.tiia.ai/publicmobile/publicmobile.html

OR: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437

Edit: You should have stayed in the same thread and give feedback about what suggestions you've tried.

We're wasting time repeating things that have already been said before realizing it when the mods merge threads together!

Error code 821, keep getting it every single time. It will charge my credit card then reimburse it about a week or two latter. spinning wheel gets stuck on setting up phone number. I have tried about 10 times with different emails, credit cards, calling telus. What am I doing wrong? Why is this one so difficult?

@robsteene

Also, you mention calling TELUS, for what exactly?

@robsteene

What happens when you put the SIM card into an unlocked phone?

Do you get any services at all, calling, texting, data...?

Also, can you log into your Self Serve account? If so, you activated the SIM card. What does your account status say?

Are you porting your phone# over to PM ?

Try using a different browser and incognito mode.  Also try clearing your cache and cookies then reboot.

If you are porting then you will need to leave your Telus sim in your phone in-order to reply to the text confirmation.

@robsteene  - what is the error message you are receiving?
