Service Unstable Since Nov 27

sbabcock
Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

Since November 27, the service at my home has become virtually unusable - can;t make calls / dropped calls / blipping during calls

Have done the following :

Rebooted

Reset Network

Changed preferred network to 3G

Moved SIM to another phone - same issues

Purchased / installed / Activated new SIM - same issues

This looks like a Regional / Tower issue as it appears that my phone is fine in other locations

I had the network set to Auto and put is back to WCDMA (it was on LTS/WCDMA/GSM)

That may have helped a bit but can't be sure

This may be a service area issue - have posted a ticket

Have you tried setting the preferred network to 4G/LTE? The Public Mobile "3G" is 4G/LTE throttled to 3-5 mbit on their end. You should be on an LTE connection in most areas for optimal connection strength. Right now in most communities, 4G beats 3G which beats 5G (since 5G is kinda spotty for now) which beats 2G. At some point 5G will improve and overtake 3G/4G.

Hi @sbabcock   Look like weak 3G in your area

open ticket with CS agent and report them the issue.  Hope they are already aware and are already working on a solution

To open ticket,

at : https://publicmobile.ca/chatbot.

First type Contact,
then select the only choice there: "Contact..",
from the list of , choose "Other"
finally click link the blue link about submit a ticket
Another page will open and just follow: .

After ticket is submitted, make sure to check your Community Inbox(top right corner envelope icon) periodically for response from PM

If you have problems submitting a ticket, you can open ticket by private message (but this can take longer):

@sbabcock

You should probably contact a CSA agent from PM and have them reset your sim card and service. They can re provision your sim card again.

Either use the Chatbot Simon to get a service ticket or send a private message to CS_Agent

Service seems to be better elsewhere although most of the time I work from home so that's where I see the issue

if working good away your home, just report to CSA and let them check the R/S in your area

My service is intermittent - one minute I can make a call and the next minute I can't

Most likely something to do with cell tower in your area.

Do you get any service when you are out of your area?
