Prepaid means you pay on day 1 and you will be using for the coming 30 days. If you dont pay on day 1, no service until you pay
for postpaid service, they do credit check. And they start the service in day 1, give you a bill and ask you to pay before a due date, usually 2 week or 3 weeks. If you don't pay it, the 2nd month, you can still use the service but they will add interest to overdue payment. Usually they will cut the service if you don't pay for 3 months or so
